Archetype Art Gallery Call for Artists

SUBMISSIONS: The New Pan-African Ideal Archetype art Gallery is seeking entries for a local exhibition to be displayed April 16, 2010 – June 11, 2010. This exhibition will engage a Pan-African post Obama aesthetic/expectation to all people affected by the Diaspora. Pan-Africanism seeks to promote the unification of all Africans and those affected by the Diaspora. Peoples affected by the Diaspora all deal with similar identity issues due to common colonial practices such as divisions within these communities based on skin tone, hair, lips, features etc. Terms like mulatto, coloured and sambo are commonplace in both the Eastern and Western Hemisphere. One product of these divisive constructs results in W.E.B Dubois idea of “double consciousness”
